Large number of devotees from Kankipadu town and surrounding areas who gathered at the church premises participated in the night-long Easter night vigil since yesterday. Bible service, candle light service, Eucharistic service, blessing of the holy water and other festivities were conducted as part of the celebrations. A four-foot paschal candle with Alpha and Omega, the Greek letters marking the beginning and end of time, was lit after it was blessed by the priest while Fr. U. Bala Shoury Reddy conducted the holy mass.

Mass was also held at Vanukuru, Godavarru, Gollagudem, Royyuru, Boddapadu and Vallurupalem on Sunday morning. Rice which was collected by the devotees as part of the 40-day Lent was distributed to the poor. The devotees also handed over a purse through the society for distribution among the destitutes.
