Bid to avoid split in vote partially successful: CPI(M)
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
APRIL 12.
The CPI(M) State Secretary, B.V. Raghavulu, has accepted that the attempt to avoid split in the secular vote in Andhra Pradesh is only partially successful.
Yet, the present cooperation among opposition parties is enough to defeat the TDP-BJP combine in the forthcoming Assembly and parliamentary elections, he asserted.
Speaking to the press here on Monday, Mr. Raghavulu said that full understanding was not possible among four parties with different ideologies. He reiterated the party's stand against separate statehood for Telangana while accepting that the region had suffered underdevelopment due to neglect.
