Simhadri among 14 rebels expelled by TDP

HYDERABAD, APRIL 12. The Telugu Desam Party president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Monday expelled 14 persons, including the former Minister, Simhadri Satyanarayana (Avanigadda in Krishna district) and seven former MLAs, for refusing to withdraw the nominations they had filed, in defiance of party's diktat.

The 14 persons are important leaders in as many constituencies in eight districts. Efforts of senior party leaders failed to convince the rebels.The expelled former MLAs are: K. Atchamamba (Boorugupadu), Vadde Veerabhadra Rao (Kadiam), Challa Venkata Krishna Reddy (Guntur II), K. Laxmaiah Naidu (Atmakur in Nellore district), A.V. Lakshmi Devamma (Tamballapalli), M. Linga Reddy (Proddatur) and K. Subba Reddy (Koilkuntla).

The other rebels are: P. Narayana Murthy (Nagaram), M. Ranga Babu (Pithapuram), the Repalle Municipal Chairman, M.V. Subba Rao, K.S. Prasad (Kadiri), the former Municipal Chairman and constituency incharge, V. Prabhakar Chowdary (Anantapur), and Jayasree (Dharmavaram).
