This Day That Age
In his message to the people broadcast from the Madras station of All India Radio on the occasion of the Tamil New Year Day on April 13, Mr. Kamaraj Nadar said: "No fear could obsess, nor even any anxiety depress a man truly treading the Gandhian path. This faith and the goodwill of the people were the twin aids on which he relied in taking up the responsibility of the office." He added that this was a day of rejoicing for all Tamil Nad. The New Year Day was sacred in that it afforded an occasion to realise the lessons taught by our past experience and apply them in our efforts to advance towards our ideal. It was the sacred duty of everyone, who had the country's good at heart, to shake off his selfish desires and dedicate himself to service in the cause of the country. It was that call that had prompted him to take up the reins of Government of this State, fully relying on the confidence and support of the people.
