HYDERABAD: India Insure Risk Management Services has chalked out aggressive growth plans to spread its network to western and northern parts of the country, and is considering Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh to start five more branches, according to V. Ramakrishna, Managing Director. Speaking to The Hindu here on Tuesday, he said the company which has been into insurance business for five years and was the first to be issued licence under the new regime last year, already has a network covering Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Pune and Mumbai. For March 2004 it has done business of about Rs. 75 crore premium. Mr. Ramakrishna, who is also the director of the Insurance Brokers Association (IBA), says corporates were increasingly looking at consultants now in view of professionalism, superior service, and negotiating capacity. But some anomalies remained, like the 5 per cent discount being given to direct customers (by insurance companies), which was not allowed for consultants going through consultants, he said.
