Tubes SBU's new initiatives

HYDERABAD: Tata Steel (Tubes SBU) commemorated 50 years of Indian tube making at a retailers meet here. The Tubes SBU on Tuesday is the largest tube manufacturer in India with an annual production capacity of more than two lakh tonnes. Set up in 1954, it is the only Indian tube company to manufacture tubes through the FM (Fretz Moon) process, which gives a differentiated product for utility in plumbing and irrigation segments. According to a company release, there are many new initiatives on the anvil including modernisation of the plants, expansion of capacity, new approaches to channel management and development of new businesses and product lines.
