KOTTAYAM, APRIL 13. The People's Political Front (PPF), a new political outfit floated by the Narmada Bachao Andolan leader, Medha Patkar, would support at least three candidates in the State in the coming Parliament elections, according to Joshi Jacob, State convener of the PPF and national secretary, Samajwadi Janparishad. Speaking to reporters here today, Mr. Jacob said the front would extend its support to A.C. Varkey, President, Farmers' Relief Forum, in Kozhikkode Parliament seat. In Idukki, the front would support C.K. Janu, Adivasi Gothra Maha Sabha leader, while in Manjeri, Thomas Kurian, who has the support of the Sarvodaya followers, would get the front's support. In addition, talks are on for fielding a candidate in Kannur Parliament seat, he said. The front would fight against attacks on minorities and would work against divisive forces in society, he said.
