KURIANOOR, APRIL 13. Kannur boys scored two wins in the 31st State sub-junior basketball championships at the MTHS floodlit courts here on Tuesday. Kannur thrashed host Kottayam 27-4 and later whipped Kozhikode 26-8 to improve its chances of qualifying from Pool `C'. In the girl's section, Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Kasargod and Kozhikode registered easy victories.
Boys: Pool `B': Thiruvananthapuram 29 (Bishiksh 6, Mahesh 5) bt Pathanamthitta 15.
Pool `C': Kottayam 28 (Victor Jose 14, Christin Prince 6) bt Kozhikode 2; Kannur 27 (Renjith M. George 6, Lijo Mathew 6) bt Kottayam 4; Kannur 26 (Unnithan 8) bt Kozhikode 8 (Sachin Babu 6).
