CHANDIGARH, APRIL 13. The local unit of the BJP today presented a hi-tech "Vijay Rath" to the party candidate for the Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat, Satya Pal Jain. The party also launched the third phase of campaigning for the May 10 poll on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi. According to the party spokesman, Kehar Singh Koundel, the Rath is equipped with stage, mike, projector, display screen, generator, light and sound paraphernalia. It has large portraits of the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and Mr. Jain. It was presented by the president of the local unit, Yash Pal Mahajan. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jain said that the Vijay Rath had caused consternation in the camp of the Congress candidate, Pawan Kumar Bansal. He claimed that he would win the Chandigarh seat with a huge margin.
