NEW DELHI, APRIL 13. A tenth-minute strike by Rajesh Yadav turned out to be the match-winner for Guru Harkrishan Public School, India Gate, in its 1-0 triumph over Lyallpur Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar, in the final of the second all-India Sahibzada Ajit Singh Gold Cup hockey tournament at the Shivaji Stadium on Tuesday. The Delhi lads played a tight game after scoring that early goal, off the team's second penalty corner. The team's goalkeeper Shakti Singh had a memorable match, as he stood like a rock in thwarting the persistent attempts of the Jalandhar team. It was no surprise that Olympian Harbinder Singh, who was making the choice of the `best players' of the tournament, selected Shakti as the `best goalkeeper'. Kulbushan Sharma of the Delhi team was adjudged the `best fullback' while Jagdeep Kumar of the Khalsa College Senior Secondary School, Amritsar, was declared the `best halfback'. Jalwinder Singh of the Lyallpur School was presented the `best forward' award.
