Close shave for SP, three hurt in accident

VISAKHAPATNAM,
APRIL 13.
The Superintendent of Police, Sanjay Kumar Jain, had a miraculous escape on Tuesday, when the car in which he was travelling had a head-on collision with a lorry at Lingalatirugudu village, near Sabbavaram.
The driver, D.V.A.N. Raju, and gunmen, B.S. Raju and A. Venkat Rao, who received serious injuries, were admitted in a corporate hospital in the city. Mr. Jain, who was injured on his chain, was discharged from the hospital after first-aid. While the driver received a head injury, Mr. Raju and Mr. Rao had fractured their legs.
The accident occurred at 10.30 a.m. when Mr. Jain was going to K. Kotapadu in connection with security arrangements for the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu's road show there on Wednesday. The driver and cleaner of the lorry are absconding.
