HYDERABAD, APRIL 13. Artillery Centre blanked APSRTC 8-0 in the A-1 division hockey league championship match at Begumpet Police Stadium here on Tuesday. The winner led 2-0 at the break. R. Lakra converted a penalty-corner in the 13th minute to give Armymen the lead. Within eight minutes, captain Sunil Sawant was in the scoring act with a fine field goal. The change of ends saw no change in the fortune for the hapless APSRTC as the rival continued to dominate and more importantly score at regular intervals. Then Balwinder took charge of the proceedings with an excellent display. He scored his first goal in the 43rd minute off a penalty-corner and it soon turned out to be Balwinder's show in the second session for he slammed in three more goals in the 45th, 55th and 67th minutes. In between, Janchan Singh struck twice to seal APSRTC's fate. In all, Artillery earned seven penalty-corners converting two of them while RTC could not get any.
