KANCHEEPURAM, APRIL 13. Special abishekams and pujas marked the Tamil New Year celebration today at the Adhi Parasakthi Siddhar Peetam, Melmaruvathur, in the district. The Bangaru Adigalar of the Peetam participated. A free medical camp was held for more than 600 persons. Six tricycles were donated to the physically challenged, while 28 sewing machines were presented to underprivileged women. The function, organised by Adhi Parasakthi Vaara Vazhipattu Mandrams of Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts, was attended by Amalendu Das, Commissioner of I-T (Chennai).
