Time limit extended for postal ballots

HYDERABAD, APRIL 13. The Chief Electoral Officer, M. Narayan Rao, on Tuesday issued orders extending the time limit for submitting applications for postal ballots by the State Government staff and teachers who have been deployed for election duty. April 16 and 22 are the last dates for submitting the applications.

The Joint Action Committee of Employees, Teachers and Workers of Andhra Pradesh said in a press release that a delegation had called on the CEO on April 12 and impressed upon him the need for extending the date.

It pleaded for increasing the ex gratia paid to the employees who die while discharging election duty, to provide them suitable security and release adequate budget so that their TA and DA expenses could be met.
