INSAT picture at 11.30 hrs. Observations recorded at 8-30 a.m. on April 14.
CHENNAI, APRIL 14. Rainfall occurred at a few places over Kerala and Lakshadweep and isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu. Mainly dry weather prevailed over south interior Karnataka and dry weather prevailed over Andhra Pradesh, coastal and north interior Karnataka. Palayamkottai recorded a heavy rainfall of 10 centimetres. The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: Kollam, Punalur and Thiruvananthapuram 2 each and Thiruvananthapuram Airport, Periyakulam (Theni dt.) and Valparai 1 each. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature rose appreciably at one or two places over north Tamil Nadu, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, rose at one or two places over Rayalaseema, rest Tamil Nadu, fell at one or two places over south interior Karnataka, south Kerala and changed a little elsewhere over the region. They were markedly to appreciably above normal at one or two places over Rayalaseema, appreciably above normal at many places over Tamil Nadu, south coastal Andhra Pradesh and at one or two places over Telangana Karnataka, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, above normal at one or two places rest Karnataka and were generally normal over rest of the region. Ramagundam and Nizamabad recorded the highest maximum temperature of 44 degree Celsius in the region. FORECAST (Valid until Friday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over south Kerala and isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over north Kerala, Lakdhadweep, south Tamil Nadu, north interior Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema. Mainly dry weather will prevail over north coastal Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, coastal and north interior Karnataka. Farmers weather bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry (Forecast valid until Friday morning): Isolated light to moderate rain is likely to occur over south Tamil Nadu and north interior Tamil Nadu. Mainly sunny weather will prevail over north coastal Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
