Vajpayee declares assets
LUCKNOW,
APRIL 15.
The Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, owns property worth over Rs. 58 lakhs.
In an affidavit filed by him during the filing of nominations for the Lucknow parliamentary seat today, Mr. Vajpayee disclosed that he had Rs. 20,000 in cash and Rs. 3,82,886.42 in a savings account of the State Bank of India.
He also has a term deposit account of Rs. 25,75,562.50 in the same bank. He has National Saving Certificates worth Rs. 1,20,782 and 2,400 units of UTI MPI-1991 and 1993 bonds.
The Prime Minister, in a separate affidavit, stated that he had obtained MA (Political Science) degree from DAV College, Kanpur.
As for his immovable property, Mr. Vajpayee said that he owned a flat No. 509, SFS Apartment, East Of Kailash, New Delhi, worth about Rs. 22 lakhs.
He also has a share in an ancestral house worth Rs. 6 lakhs at Shinde Ki Chavni, Kamal Singh Ka Bagh in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. UNI
