NEW DELHI, APRIL 15. A man running a school at Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, who was allegedly very close to Ranjit Verma, prime accused in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) All India Pre-Medical Test paper leak case, has been detained for questioning by the Crime Branch of the Delhi police on suspicion that the papers were solved in his presence on April 10. During investigations, the Crime Branch officers found that the accused in the paper leak case had got the papers solved in his presence at Ghaziabad. The police suspect that Tyagi was very close to Ranjit and was with him throughout Saturday when papers were being solved. Suspecting that he would know about Ranjit's whereabouts and his involvement in the paper leak racket, the Crime Branch detained him for interrogation. It is learnt that the police have got some vital evidence against Tyagi confirming that he knew about the paper leak racket being run by Ranjit in the Capital. They are also planning to arrest him after corroboration of all the facts. This apart, the police are suspecting the involvement of a Delhi Government employee of the level of Sub-Divisional Magistrate in the case. The suspect had apparently tried to arrange for the bail of Vikas and Rakesh. While several Crime Branch teams are conducting raids in other parts of the country in search of others involved in the racket, it is learnt that they have passed on some vital clues to the team in the Capital about the whereabouts of one of the accused. Meanwhile, the police are also investigating into the role of the staff of printing presses located across Maharashtra and Gujarat.
