BANGALORE, APRIL 15. Three persons were killed on the spot and five were injured after a van in which they were travelling collided with a lorry in the Bidadi Police limits in Bangalore Rural district in the early hours of Thursday. The police said the accident took place at about 1.30 a.m. near Kanminike village on the Bangalore-Mysore State Highway. The dead were identified as Devaraja (22), Babu (26) and Thimmappa (30), all residents of Babasapalya near Kengeri. The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Kengeri. They were returning to Babasapalya after attending a festival at a temple in Nagamangala in Mandya district. The lorry was bound for Mysore from Bangalore, the police said. The Bidadi Police seized the lorry and arrested its driver.
