Summer special extended

NEW DELHI APRIL 17 . To meet the extra summer rush, Northern Railway has decided to extend the running of the Summer Special train between New Delhi and Jammu Tawi. While the train between New Delhi and Jammu Tawi (number 0403) will run till April 24 six days a week, the one starting from Jammu Tawi (number 0404) will operate till April 25.

Unique tribute to Ambedkar

NEW DELHI APRIL 17 . To commemorate the birth anniversary of Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the National Conference of Dalit Organisations (NACDOR) organised a unique event titled "113 Lights of Dignity" here on Wednesday. The event was held at 26 Alipur Road, where Dr. Ambedkar spent the last few years of his life. People from different walks of life came to the National Memorial, lit candles and paid tribute to Dr. Ambedkar.

Muslims urged to back Congress

NEW DELHI APRIL 17. The All India Babri Masjid Rebuilding Committee held a meeting with imams, scholars and leaders here today to discuss the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The meeting unanimously decided that Muslims should lend support to the Congress candidates.

The issue of job reservations for Muslims in the Army, police and governmental departments was also discussed. The meeting was presided by the former President of the All India Babri Masjid Rebuilding Committee, Mohammad Younus Siddiqui.

School annual day

NEW DELHI APRIL 17 . The annual day function of the Great Mission Convent School was held here this past week. The BJP MP from East Delhi, Lal Bihari Tiwari, who was the chief guest, handed over certificates and medals to talented students. The students performed a cultural programme, including a Garwali dance, on the occasion.
