COIMBATORE, APRIL 17 : The Kovai Medical Center and Hospital (KMCH) has said that its Department of Neurology and Radiology has developed a new technique to deliver the clot-busting drug at the place of the clot by navigating a catheter through the patient's vascular system. According to a release, the treatment called "Endovascular thrombolysis" should be used within six hours of the occurrence of acute ischemic stroke. The drug administered near the clot opens it and allows free flow of blood to the affected brain, the release said. The patient would recover completely and could be discharged early from the hospital, the release said.
