NDCA annual day celebrated

NAGAPATTINAM, APRIL 18. The annual day of the Nagapattinam District Cricket Association was celebrated at the District Stadium here on Sunday. Mr. A. Arul Marianathan, President, NDCA, presided. Mr. K.S. Viswanathan, Assistant Secretary, Tamil Nadu Cricket Association, gave away the trophies to the winning teams in the Indian Bank - NDCA league 2003-2004 and other tournaments conducted by NDCA and special awards to the players. Mr. D. Julius Vijayakumar, Secretary, welcomed the gathering. Mr. P.S. Muthu Kumaraj, Treasurer, proposed a vote of thanks.

Indian Bank - NDCA league 2003-04 (Indian Bank Trophy) Winner: FCA, Vedaranyam.

Runner-up: (YMCA Shield): Victoria CC, Mayiladuthurai. Special awards: Batsman: Munusamy (Victoria CC); Bowler: N. Jeevanantham (Sridhar CC). Punjab National Bank - NDCA inter-collegiate tournament (Anand Patil Trophy): Winner: AVC Engineering College, Mannapanthal. Runner-up: EGS Pillay Arts and Science College, Nagai. Special awards: Batsman: Stanley (TBMLC, Porayar); Bowler: Senthilkumar (AVC Engg). YMCA - NDCA Inter-School tournament: (Prof. Arul Marianathan Trophy): Winner: DBTR National Higher Secondary School, Mayiladuthurai. Runner-up: Tavasamuthu Nadar HSS, Porayar. Special awards: Batsman: T. Rajamoorthy; Bowler: Nandakumar. Other Special awards: Promising Youngster 2003-04: Vivek (Mayladuthurai); Bharathi Dasan University Representation: Peter Paulraj. Century maker against Dindigul in the inter-district u-17 tournament: Vijendran (Vedaranyam). Promising Youngsters: (Cycles donated by T.I cycles): Vigespathy and Surender.
