Ankit triumphs

NEW DELHI, APRIL 18. Qualifier Ankit Sachdeva clinched the title beating Rahul Belwal 6-3, 7-5 in the under-18 final of the AITA talent series tennis tournament that concluded at the Shanti Tennis Academy, Vasant Kunj, here on Saturday.

International wheelchair tennis player Pradeep Lal gave away the prizes.

The results (finals):

Boys: under-18: Ankit Sachdeva bt Rahul Belwal 6-3, 7-5; Doubles: Manjit Singh and Raj Kanwar Singh bt Karun Uday Singh and Rahul Belwal 6-0, 6-2; Under-14: D. Bharat Raju bt Bharat Bharadwaj 6-4, 6-4; Prateek Patel and Shantanu Rajput bt D. Bharat Raju and Rohit Bisht 6-4, 6-1.

Girls: Under-18: Alipt Sandhu bt Khyati Thakur 6-4, 6-1; Under-14: Prerna Bhambri bt Rishika Sunkara 6-3, 6-3.
