Tragedy strikes Indian family

NEW YORK, APRIL 19. Tragedy struck an Indian family preparing to celebrate a wedding in Queens, a suburb of New York, when a beam of a ceremonial tent, being erected for the reception, fell on a six-year-old boy on Saturday.

The boy, Ajay Singh, was playing with his toy golf club in his parents' yard when he hit the ball near the tent. While trying to retrieve it, he accidentally disturbed the beam, resting against the wall of the house.

His father, Parasram, rushed him to hospital where he died a little later.

The wedding ceremony was cancelled.
