Fire-fighting demonstration

KOCHI, APRIL 19. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will observe the finale of the ongoing National Fire Service Week at its FACT fire station, Amabalamedu, on Tuesday with a heroic display of fire-fighting and rescue demonstration, according to a CISF press release issued today.

Kalabhavan carnival

The Kalabhavan Students Carnival will take place at St. Albert's School Grounds here on April 25 as part of the 35th anniversary celebrations of Kalabhavan. A painting exhibition will be held on April 25 in the morning. Over 3,000 students and teachers of Kalabhavan will join a procession to he held in Marine Drive in the afternoon. Several well-known film artistes will take part in the entertainment programmes to be held in the evening.

B.Ed. course

The Dakshina Bharata Hindi Prachar Sabha has invited applications for its B.Ed. courses being offered at Ambadimala (Ernakulam district) and Neeleswaram (Kasaragod district) centres. Graduates in Hindi, Maths, English or Social Studies with a minimum 45 per cent marks may apply. Application form are available at the Sabha's office on Chittoor Road for a fee of Rs. 200. It is available through post from the Secretary, Dakshina Bharata Hindi Prachar Sabha, Chittoor Road, Kochi-16, on payment of Rs. 250 (DD only). The last date for applying is June 26. Sanskrit course

The Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit will organise a two-week orientation course in spoken Sanskrit from May 12. School, college and university teachers can apply. There will be separate courses for schoolteachers and college/university teachers. Interested teachers can apply with their bio-data to M.V. Natesan, convener, orientation course, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady. Tel: 2463380.
