This Day That Age
Britain is now consulting with India, Pakistan and Ceylon on the plans for a South-East Asia Collective Defence Pact, it is understood in diplomatic quarters in London. The plans were sponsored last week by Britain, France and the United States when the U.S. Secretary of State, Mr. John Foster Dulles visited London and Paris. Australia, New Zealand and several other interested Governments have already been consulted through their envoys in Washington. Details of the proposed defence pact insofar as they have already been worked out have been supplied to the Governments in New Delhi, Karachi and Colombo.
