CHENNAI, APRIL 20. The Indian men's basketball team is to participate in the Champions Cup tournament to be held in Dubai from May 15 to 22. This is one of the major events for the Basketball Federation of India to prepare for and the same national side that took part in the Kuala Lumpur tournament before the last National senior championship at Cuttack is likely to be fielded again in Dubai. IOB's Robinson has been invited for the camp. Though the dates for the Federation Cup tournament are yet to be decided by the Gujarat association, the BFI has announced the dates and venues for the National junior championship to be held at Chittoor (AP) from June 6 to 13, and National Youth event to be held at Gotan (Rajasthan) from June 20 to 26. Tamil Nadu is going to host three All-India tournaments in May and two in August. The Silver Jubilee competition is to be held at Periakulam (May 21 to 25), the Karur Club event at Karur (May 21 to 25) and the Coimbatore DBA tournament at Coimbatore (May 25 to 30). The Ace Club is conducting its All-India tournament in Chennai from August 1 to 8 and the PSG Tech competititon at Coimbatore from May 9 to 15, according to Mr. Selvaraj, Secretary, TNBA.
