BHEL gets PEDA order

TIRUCHI: The BHEL has bagged a contract against stiff competition for the supply of solar powered water pumping systems to Punjab. The contract valued at Rs. 19 crores, is for supply, installation, commissioning and after sales service of 700 sets of solar powered water pumping systems for the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA). This is the single largest order for solar photovoltaics won by BHEL overcoming the stiff competition. BHEL will supply and instal the systems totalling to 1.26 MW of solar power, during the next few months, a BHEL release said.
