Coca Cola launches Vanilla Coke

BANGALORE: Coca Cola India launched its Vanilla Coke here on Tuesday through 14,000 retail outlets. "This is targeted at the metro youth who are into a retro image and the brand will have an urban marketing strategy'' Vice President, Sunil Gupta, told presspersons. Launched after extensive sampling, it is the first Coke variant in India. After the pesticides residue controversy last year, Coca Cola has regained its market and had a 22 per cent growth during calendar year 2003, Mr. Gupta said. South India accounted for 45 per cent of the growth. Coca Cola India's parent company invested $100 million in India during 2003 and this year the company's franchisees and co-packers will be pumping in $ 70 million in expansion, he added.
