Isolated rain in Tamil Nadu
CHENNAI, APRIL 20. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Kerala and dry weather prevailed over Telangana, Lakshadweep and Karnataka. The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms are: Barur (Dharmapuri dt.) and Sulur (Coimbatore dt.) 2 each and Sankaridurg (Salem dt.), Udhagamandalam and Kottayam 1 each. On Monday, heat wave conditions prevailed over parts of south coastal Andhra Pradesh and interior Tamil Nadu. The maximum temperature rose appreciably at one or two places over Rayalaseema, rose at one or two places over Telangana, north interior Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka, fell appreciably at one or two places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Tamil Nadu, fell at one or two places over the rest of coastal Andhra Pradesh, the rest of coastal Tamil Nadu and changed a little elsewhere over the region. They were markedly above normal at one or two places over Telangana, Rayalaseema, appreciably above normal at a few places over the rest of Telangana, Rayalaseema, north interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, at one or two places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, south interior Karnataka, above normal at a few places over the rest of Karnataka, the rest of Andhra Pradesh, the rest of Tamil Nadu and were generally normal over rest of the region. Nandyal, Cuddapah and Hanamkonda recorded the highest maximum temperature of 44 degree Celsius in the region.
