Teacher beheaded in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, APRIL 20. In a gruesome incident, a school teacher was beheaded by unidentified militants in Pulwama district of south Kashmir today, official sources said.

Shoukat Ahmad Kar, teacher in a private school, was abducted by militants from his Nai Basti residence on Monday night and his chopped head and bullet-riddled torso were recovered by the police today from Lurigam village of Tral, the sources said.

The motive behind the killing was not known. This is the third incident of its kind in the last 20 days.
