Pondicherry
By Our Staff Reporter
PONDICHERRY, APRIL 20. Functionaries of various wings of the Pondicherry unit of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazahagam today observed fast at Orleanpet here to `condemn filing of false cases' by election authorities against the State committee secretary and MLA, A. Anbalagan, and a few other office bearers recently for `alleged violation of the model code of conduct'. The election authorities had filed cases against Mr. Anbalagan and a few of his party colleagues on a charge that the display of cutouts, flags and banners during the visit of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, to Pondicherry in April was a violation of the model code. Mr. Anbalagan had however been maintaining that he had obtained prior permission from the PWD in response to the letter sent to the department on March 27.
