Both fronts impeding development: Rajagopal

By Our Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, APRIL 21 . The Union Minister of State for Defence, O. Rajagopal, has said the threat by the LDF and the UDF that it will not allow the BJP to open its account in the State in the coming elections to Lok Sabha will create hurdles for the development of the State in the coming years.

Speaking at a family get-together at Rishimangalam here today, Mr. Rajgopal said the voters of the State should decide whether the State needs development. The Communists and Congressmen were creating hurdles for development of State and the LDF and the UDF were responsible for the backwardness of the State.

Mr. Rajagopal, who is contesting from the Thiruvananthapuram Parliamentary constituency, said the State needs representation in the Union Cabinet for the overall development of the State. The BJP leader appealed to the electorate to vote for the party to open its account from the State.

The convener of the National Democratic Alliance, B. K. Shekar, Ettumanoor Radhakrishnan, and the BJP district president, Vellanchira Somasekharan, were among those who spoke. Later, Mr. Rajagopal also visited the Shiv Sena office.
