Two robbed of Rs. 99,000

CHENNAI, APRIL 21. Two men were robbed of Rs. 99,000 in cash by a motorcycle-borne duo on Barnaby Road, Kilpauk, on Tuesday. The police said Senthil and Nachiappan were taking the money to a bank when their scooter was hit by the motorcycle the duo was riding. They snatched the bag containing the money and fled.

Two die of burns

A 25-year-old woman and her four-and-a-half-year-old daughter died when a stove burst at their home at Alapakkam, near Maduravoyal, on Tuesday. The Chengai East police said Jayalakshmi and her daughter Divya were taken to the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival.
