F-1 drivers honour Senna
FORLI (Italy): Formula One drivers faced Brazil's winning 1994 World Cup squad on Wednesday night in a soccer match held in honour of the 10th anniversary of Ayrton Senna's death.
The Brazilian driver was killed in an accident at the San Marino Grand Prix in nearby Imola, which is gearing up for this year's race on Sunday.
Current F-1 champion Michael Schumacher lined up with Brazilian teammate Rubens Barrichello, Italian Jarno Trulli, Spanish star Fernando Alonso and other drivers against soccer legends Aldair, Dunga, Careca, Leonardo, Marcio Santos, Mazinho and Taffarel the team that beat Italy on penalties in the USA '94 final.
About 6,000 spectators showed up and ticket proceeds went to the Senna Foundation, which aids Brazilian youths.
Vivian Senna, the sister of the killed driver, made the ceremonial kick-off for the match, which ended in a light-hearted but emotional 5-5 draw.
