Western Railway on course
BANGALORE,
APRIL 22.
Eastern Railway was set a huge task of scoring 449 runs in 40 overs by Western Railway on the penultimate day of the all-India inter-Railway cricket tournament at the Rail Wheel Factory ground here. The title is thus in the bag for Western Railway.
On a day when 17 wickets fell, Western Railway completely outplayed its opponent from the Eastern sector. Nikhil Patwardhan went on to make 119 as Western Railway was bowled out for 347. S.S. Paul and M. Pradeep shared the remaining wickets to fall.

Western Railway 347 (Sanjay Bangar 70, Amit Pagnis 58, Nikhil Patwardhan 119, S.S. Paul three for 71, M. Pradeep four for 107) and 260 for five in 40 overs (Amit Pagnis 78, Vinit Saxena 68 n.o., Shreyas Khalnolkar 41 n.o.) vs Eastern Railway 159 in 36.2 overs (Rahul Deb 42, T. Chakravarthy 25, T. Rahul three for 26, Pradesh three for 29).
Central Railway 146 bt Southern Railway 137 (S. Raghunath 44, Mussavir Khote four for 28, Omkar Salvi four for 34).
