PALAKKAD, APRIL 22. The schism among the Malayalam matinee idols, pitted in a glamour battle against the film producers, widened further today, with the leading South Indian actress, Meera Jasmine, too shifting loyalties. The artiste, who won the State award for the best actress last year, said she was ready to sign the contract of the producers if ``good and significant offers come. I will look for selective roles, worth acting. I don't want to wreck my future in the profession. I am just an upcoming artiste,'' Meera said. Meera's move comes close on the heels of a section of actors led by Lalu Alex openly revolting against their parent body - Malayalam Movie Artistes Association (AMMA) - recently to support the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce, which sought acceptance from each actor to a 21-point contract before shooting a film. - UNI
