Inflation static at 4.4 p.c.

NEW DELHI, APRIL 23. The rate of inflation remained unchanged at the previous week's level of 4.4 per cent during the week ended April 10, even as prices of wheat, rice, fruits, vegetables and several edible oils fell.

The point-to-point Wholesale Price Index inflation was as high as 6.60 per cent in the year-ago period indicating that the cost of living for the common man decreased by over 2 per cent during the latest reported week.
