BJP cannot claim all credit: Krishna

By Our Correspondent

KARWAR, APRIL 23. The Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, has taken exception to the claim of the Bharatiya Janata Party that the credit for the improved economy should go to the National Democratic Alliance Government alone.

Addressing an election rally at Ankola on Thursday, he said the Congress had laid a strong foundation for the country to develop. The country could become self-sufficient owing to the Green Revolution and the White Revolution initiated by successive Congress Governments at the Centre. Jawaharlal Nehru gave new impetus to development programmes.

The BJP had ignored these while making its claim. If at all India was shining, the Congress should get the credit, he added.
