Over 7,000 candidates are appearing for the TNPCEE for admission to engineering and medical colleges in the coming academic year. Mr.Alagar also said the university had issued fresh hall tickets to candidates, who had problems `and in Madurai there were only negligible number and they have been issued'.

The Dean of the ACRI, N. Kempu Chetty and principal of TCE, V.Abhaikumar, said all preparations for the conduct of examinations had been completed, including the arrangement of special buses to centres by the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation.

The answerscripts would be taken to Chennai, likely on Monday with police protection.
