THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, APRIL 23. The CPI(M) central and State leaderships have conflicting views on political issues of national importance, the CMP central executive member, G. Sugunan, has said. Inaugurating the Attingal area convention of the CMP at Attingal recently, Mr. Sugunan pointed out that while the CPI(M) general secretary, Harkishan Singh Surjeet, had announced that the party would support a secular Government at the Centre, the Leader of the Opposition, V.S. Achuthanandan, was campaigning against the Congress in the State. Mr. Achuthanandan's statement that a third front would come to power at the Centre was a challenge to the central leadership of the party, Mr. Sugunan said.
