Two more file papers in Mavelikara

PATHANAMTHITTA, APRIL 23. When the deadline for filing of nominations for the Lok Sabha elections in the State came to a close this afternoon, a total of eleven persons have filed their papers in the Mavelikara constituency, according to official sources.

The Pathanamthitta District Collector, Rabeendra Kumar Agarwal, who is also the Returning Officer for Mavelikara, said that he had received two more papers today, making the total number of nominations 11.

Saji Kunjukutty of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and

Mr Zacharia of the Social Action Party were the two who filed their papers today.

The others who have filed their nominations are S. Krishnakumar (BJP), K.S. Tharanathan (BJP), Ramesh Chennithala (Indian National Congress), C.S. Sujatha CPI(M), Saji CPI(M) and four Independents, R. Kavitha, K. Kishore Kumar, Radhamony and Vijayan.

Mr. Agarwal said that the scrutiny of nominations would be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow. The last time for withdrawal of nominations is 3 p.m. on April 26.

According to Mr. Agarwal, the final list of the contesting candidates will be published after 3 p.m. on April 26. He said that the allotment of symbols to the contesting candidates would also be made in the afternoon on the same day.
