NEW DELHI, APRIL 23. It is being billed as a cultural evening showcasing the ancient tradition of India and will be a get-together for the leading lights of the party in city politics. The "Mahashakti Bharat'' show of the Bharatiya Janata Party, being held at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium on April 30, will witness the presence of Bollywood stars, singers and musicians along with political leaders and party sympathisers. The three-hour long extravaganza can only be witnessed with a valid invitation card. In fact, the evening will also witness a line up of all the contesting candidates from Delhi along with senior party leaders from the Capital. The crowds would include active party workers and close sympathisers who would be treated to poems and songs written in praise of the party or the prominent leaders including the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Rendering these songs would be the famous Hindi playback singer Kumar Sanu and the music coordinator would be Ravindra Jain, who hit the headlines recently for joining the Congress and later the BJP within a week. The other stars on the show would be Poonam Dhillon, jumping jack Jeetendra, Suresh Oberoi, Mukesh Khanna of the Shaktiman serial fame and famous poet, Narendra Bangra. The programme is part of the countrywide campaign launched by the party under the ``Mahashakti Bharat'' theme to showcase the strong culture and heritage of the country and project it as a superpower of the future. Meanwhile, the party is finalising the programmes of the leading BJP leaders to take part in the election campaign in the Capital. The Deputy Prime Minister, L.K.Advani, will address several election meetings on May 3 in the Capital along with Union Health Minister, Sushma Swaraj. The BJP national president, Venkaiah Naidu, would address election meetings in the Capital on April 27 and the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Raman Singh, on April 28. The party is also working out the programme of the Rajasthan Chief Minister, Vasundra Raje Scindia, and the Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi for addressing poll meetings in Delhi. In addition to this, the party is hoping to get a nod from the Prime Minister for holding a big public meeting in the Capital that would take care of all the seven Lok Sabha constituencies. On the other hand, final touches are also being given to the tour programmes of the film and TV stars who are expected to descend on the Capital during the first week of May.
