Cloudy sky forecast

Sky is likely to be cloudy in the afternoon and evening on Saturday. The maximum temperature is likely to be 37 degree Celsius. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Friday were 37.6 degree Celsius and 25.6 degree Celsius respectively while the relative humidity was 57 per cent.

Exchange of soiled notes

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has arranged special cash counters in the city for exchange of soiled and defective currency notes and distribution of coins, according to a press release.

The counters will function from 10.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. on the premises of UTI Bank Limited, Begumpet (April 25), SBH, Punjagutta (May 2), Punjab National Bank, Sanatnagar (May 9), and HDFC Bank Limited, Begumpet (May 16).

Handwriting course

A one-day `handwriting improvement' course, planned by the literacy house of Andhra Pradesh Mahila Sabha for those above 12 years, has been postponed from April 24 to May 2.

According to a press release, the Director of National Handwriting Academy, Mallikarjuna Rao, will conduct the course. Further details could be obtained on telephone Nos: 27098406 and 270964664

Coca-Cola's new product

Coca-Cola India announced the launch of `vanilla coke' in Hyderabad on Friday. Devendra Chawla, area general manager, said in a press release here that the new flavour with its `ice creamy' taste was targeted at the urban youth. It is a blend of smooth ice creamy flavour and Coca Cola.

Seer jayanthi

Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Sankara Mutt, Skandagiri, will be celebrating Sri Adi Sankara's `jayanthi mahotsavam' with `rudrabhishekam', `homam', `veda pathanam' and `bashya pathanam' from 8 a.m. onwards on April 24. A dance ballet on Sri Adi Sankara's life will be presented at 6.30 p.m., according to a press release.
