Radhakrishnan declares assets

COIMBATORE, APRIL 23. The State president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and party candidate for the Coimbatore Lok Sabha seat, C.P. Radhakrishnan, today declared his assets, worth around Rs.5.50 crores and those in his wife and dependents' name worth over Rs.2 crores. He filed his nomination on April 19.

The assets were: cash in hand- Rs.1.11 lakhs, bank deposits of Rs.9.16 lakhs, shares worth Rs.17.65 lakhs and insurance policies, postal savings deposits and National Savings Certificates all totalling Rs.1.04 crores. He owned a Mahindra jeep and a van totally worth Rs.10 lakhs.

The agricultural lands he owned in the Tirupur area were worth Rs.2.86 crores and the non-agricultural lands Rs.68.75 lakhs. Besides these, he also owned a land measuring 2,400 sq.ft, valued at Rs.20,000, at Arakkadan Village in Sriperumbudur.

His 3,500 sq.ft. house at Sheriff Colony in Tirupur was worth Rs.12 lakhs and four buildings at Chettipalayam in the town were totally valued at Rs.16 lakhs.

As for liabilities, he had taken a loan of Rs.43,700 from the Lakshmi Vilas Bank in Tirupur.

His wife had Rs.15.62 lakhs cash, deposits of Rs.25.86 lakhs, shares of Rs.4.80-lakh value, an insurance policy for Rs.1 lakh, gold jewels weighing 540 gm and diamond jewels together worth Rs.40 lakhs.

The agricultural lands she owned were of the value of Rs.65.50 lakhs and non-agricultural lands Rs.32.10 lakhs.

The assets owned by other members of the family were: cash in hand Rs.26,360, insurance policies worth Rs.3.5 lakhs and lands worth Rs.21.25 lakhs.
