VHP demonstration against Vajpayee
By Our Special Correspondent
AHMEDABAD,
APRIL 24.
Unhappy over the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee's alleged minority appeasement policy, the Gujarat unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad today staged demonstrations denouncing his Kishanganj promises.
Criticising what he said Mr. Vajpayee's ``increasing Muslim appeasement,'' the VHP's State unit secretary, Dillip Trivedi, said while the Prime Minister and the Centre had ``failed to provide protection'' to Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Vajpayee had surpassed all previous Prime Ministers in trying to ``appease'' the minorities.
At a time when unemployment was increasing, Mr. Vajpayee promised jobs to two crore Muslim youth out of the total 12 crores Muslims. His announcement of providing financial assistance for the construction of madrassas (Muslim seminaries) when no progress made in the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya also came under attack.
