BANGALORE, APRIL 24. A Congress worker was killed in a clash between Janata Dal (Secular) and Congress supporters in the Nagamangala Assembly constituency in Mandya district early on Saturday. Around 1.30 a.m., the Janata Dal (S) and Congress workers clashed at Kannenahalli village and indulged in stone throwing. Thimme Gowda (23) of Moodala Hosahalli suffered head injuries after being hit by stones. Gowda, a Congress worker, died on the way to a hospital in Bangalore, the police said. The Bellur police have registered a case. Following Gowda's death, there was tension at Nagamanagala town. Para-military forcers have been deployed to prevent untoward incidents, the police said.
