Best Bakery case

Sir, — The Supreme Court has only echoed the wounded national sentiments.

It is not too late for the Gujarat Government to put its past behind with it and gracefully come clean in the case.

R. Natarajan,
Chennai

Sir, — The Best Bakery case is no doubt very tragic. As for Mr. Modi, he dutifully held elections and surrendered himself to the will of the people of Gujarat.

The people returned him to power with a thumping majority, reinforcing their faith in him.

In a democracy, is not the people's verdict superior to everything else?

S.P. Sharma,
Mumbai
