Not terrorists

Sir, — I refer to some letters in The Hindu pertaining to the killing in quick succession of two Hamas leaders by Israel. They have described Palestinian freedom fighters as terrorists and the killing of Abdul Aziz Rantisi and Sheikh Yassin as exemplary anti-terror measures. It must be understood that Palestinians are fighting for the freedom of their homeland, which has been unjustly occupied by Jewish settlers. How can they be called terrorists?
