KAKINADA, APRIL 25. Congress leaders alleged that lot of fake photo identity cards were prepared and distributed just on the eve of elections by the ruling Telugu Desam party, with a view to win the election. Mallipudi Mangapati Pallamraju Congress candidate for Kakinada parliamentary constituency and Dwarapudi Chandrasekhara Reddy, town Congress president at a press conference here on Saturday night alleged that the photo identity card were just xerox copies of the original cards with change in the name and photo but bearing some registered numbers which will not tally with the registers. Displaying two such photo identity cards, they said, even the Collector was amazed over the reproduction of photo identity cards and advised the delegation led by them, to create awareness among the voters on their own as time is short to curb them. However, they said that the Collector had agreed to caution the presiding officers and the assistant presiding officers on such cards and not to allow any one with fake cards to caste their voters.
