PONDICHERRY, APRIL 25. The Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) at Kanagachettikulam in Lawspet Assembly constituency has started a City Centre on Nehru Street for diagnosis before referring patients to the hospital for advanced and specialised treatment. The Archbishop of Pondicherry, Michel Augustin, blessed the centre. The Education Minister, K. Lakshmianrayanan, was among the chief guests at the inauguration of the facility. The principal-cum-director of PIMS, Abraham G Thomas, said besides offering outpatient care facilities it would also offer emergency treatment. The centre had been equipped with modern gadgets, including X Ray unit, and also equipments for patients complaining of chest pain or cardiac problem. Kalyan Singh, Medical Superintendent, PIMS, also spoke.
